Giorgio Vasari was born in 1511 in Arezzo. He began to study art and art history in his native city. In 1524 he went to Florence where worked in the art laboratories directed by Andrea del Sarto and Andrea Bandinelli. In 1527 when the Medici family was driven out by the revolutionary people he left the city following Ippolito Medici in Rome. He met Michelangelo in Rome and continued to study painting and architecture. From 1554 he began to work at a lot of project in Florence and in ather Tuscany cities. In particular he work on the paintings decorations of Palazzo Vecchio, and of the Uffizzi palaces. In Pisa he designed the palace and the Church of Santo Stefano cavaliers. He died in 1574 in Florence.
